ATM withdrawal limits

You can withdraw up to £250 per day.

You can increase this limit up to £500 in £10 increments for all debit card holders (excluding Cashminder and student accounts). If you want to do this, contact us.

What to do if the ATM does not dispense your money

If you had available funds for the amount you wanted to withdraw but the ATM did not dispense the money, contact us on the next working day. We will check if the funds have been debited from your account.

If the funds have been debited and you did not receive the money, we can submit an ATM claim on your behalf.

If the ATM was not at a bank, we will need to know the:

  • operator of the ATM
  • location of the ATM
  • amount you tried to withdraw
  • amount that was dispensed, if any
  • date and time of the attempted transaction

We can only raise a claim two working days after you notify us. This is because some ATM transactions can take an extra day to appear on your accounts, so your balance may correct itself within that time.

Once we have raised your claim, we will investigate the claim and either credit your account or contact you.

What to do if the ATM swallows your card

If the ATM has swallowed your card, please contact us immediately. This is so we can discuss the arrangements for accessing cash and issue a new card to you.

Can I get my card back?

If your card is retained by an ATM, the staff at that location are unable to return it to you. The operator of the ATM is required to securely destroy any cards retained by an ATM at our request.
